Our Story
Our Story begins with the vision of Ms. Rima Raulinaitis. Rima purchased property in the Newhall Arts District, in the City of Santa Clarita, California with the intention of creating a pottery business. The Ceramic Artist Studio Inc. (CASI) was established in 2013, and under the guidance of Rima and Master potter James Heuston, CASI became the most successful pottery studio north of the 118 freeway.
That Pottery Studio survives still, under a new name and with new owners, although the owners are not new to the Studio, the Pottery Studio has a new name, "Clayworks Pottery Studio." The Clayworks Pottery Studio continues to provide the community with quality service, professional staff in a safe and inclusive environment.​
Nuts & Bolts
Clayworks Pottery Studio is an artist/craft studio that offers all levels of pottery instruction focused on the ceramic arts. We are located in Old Town Newhall, in the Arts & Entertainment district of the City of Santa Clarita. The Studio offers over 2,300 square feet of brightly lit, climate controlled creative workspace with plenty of communal and personal shelf space. There is always a staff member on site to answer questions. Routine kiln firings assure quick turnaround time for bisque and glazed pieces.

The Studios ceramics class sessions are facilitated by professional ceramic artists who are a wealth of information at all proficiency levels. In the working area, you will find high quality equipment such as Brent pottery wheels, slab roller, extruder, pug mill, heavy duty workbenches, artist shelving, lockers, Geil gas and electric kilns, plus a wide variety of stoneware and porcelain clays and glazes. We offer gas, high-fire (cone 10) reduction glaze firings which ensures that all ceramics are fully vitrified, dishwasher and microwave safe.
